The First Weeks Are Quiet Like This

There’s a particular kind of stillness in the first weeks with a newborn. The world outside keeps moving, but inside this room, time slows right down to the rhythm of one tiny person’s breathing.

This session was full of that stillness. Dad, leaned in close, studying his daughter’s face like he’s memorizing it (he is). Mum, unhurried, watching her baby with the kind of focus you only have for someone you’d do anything for. Two perfect feet, held in two big hands.

Nothing posed. Nothing performed. Just a family in the middle of falling in love with their newest member, one quiet moment at a time.

This is what I show up for. Not always the big milestones, but the soft, unrepeatable ordinary of those early days. The ones that disappear so fast you’ll wish you’d photographed every single one.

Do you have a tiny human on the way (or do you have one already here and you haven’t slept since)? Let’s capture this chapter before it blurs. 🤍
