Stanley Park,

Vancouver

The classic for a reason. Stanley Park gives you options within options — the seawall for that open, airy feel with the water and mountains behind you, the forested trails for something more intimate and moody, and Prospect Point for golden hour magic if the timing lines up. It’s also wonderfully easy to get to, which matters more than people think when you’re trying to coordinate outfits, parking, and pre-session nerves.

Best for: Couples who want a bit of everything (water, trees, light) without committing to one vibe.

Jericho Beach, Vancouver

Jericho is one of those spots that just gives. Wide open sandy beach, the mountains sitting perfectly in the background, and a quieter crowd than some of the more central parks. And don’t write off the parkland surrounding it. The late afternoon light here in summer is almost unfair. We’re talking warm, golden, slightly cinematic, the kind of light that does half my job for me.

This one’s for the couples who want something a little wilder. Lighthouse Park sits right on the water in West Vancouver with dramatic rocky shoreline, ancient old-growth trees and a rugged coastal feel you genuinely can’t fake. It photographs beautifully in all seasons: moody and dramatic in winter, lush and golden in summer. Nearby Caulfield or Whytecliffe Park are also great options.

Best for: Keeping it real. So if you have a place in mind (even, or especially, if it’s not on any “best of Vancouver” list) bring it up. That’s where the magic is.
